Queen's is a bit off Galveston's beaten paths of Broadway and Seawall Boulevard. It looks more like a joint for locals. Even it's architecture fits into the surrounding neighborhood. I was happy to see a three-meat combo for under $10, so I ordered it up.
Both green and baked beans were straight from the can. All the meat was covered in a tomatoey sauce with little depth. Meaty ribs were bland, mushy and lacked smoke. Chewy brisket was cut with the grain and also lacked significant flavors outside of the sauce. Along with the other meats, the hot links lacked smokiness and had one-dimensional heat. This was just mediocre BBQ.

DISCLAIMER:
Each joint is judged on the essence of Texas 'cue...sliced brisket and pork ribs. Sausage is only considered if house made. Sauce is good, but good meat needs no adornment to satisfy. Each review can only be based on specific cuts of meat on that particular day. Finally, if the place fries up catfish or serves a caesar salad, then chances are they aren't paying enough attention to the pits, so we mostly steered clear.
